Access to nutritious meals doesn’t stop when the school year ends. Summer nutrition programs are a critical part of year-round food security for children and program sustainability. This meeting will explore how USDA Summer Nutrition (SUN) programs for kids connect to School Meals for All and can serve as opportunities to support the financial health of school nutrition programs.

Coalition members will gain an overview of the three SUN programs, hear how innovative models like Meals To-Go are helping programs remain financially stable, and discuss how summer meals create opportunities for meaningful partnerships between schools and community organizations. This conversation highlights summer meals as a key strategy for expanding access to food, strengthening programs, and building a more sustainable school nutrition system.
