Policy doesn’t live on paper—it shows up on the lunch tray every day.
In recognition of National Nutrition Month, this coalition meeting will focus on the evidence-based reality that school meals are among the healthiest options available to children. We’ll explore what the research tells us about the nutritional quality of school breakfast and lunch, and how these meals support student health and learning.
This conversation will address common misconceptions about school food while highlighting the standards, safeguards, and science behind what’s served in cafeterias across the state. We’ll also briefly touch on updated dietary guidelines and what they signal for the future—but our focus will remain on the nutrition students are receiving right now.
Come ready to learn, connect, and think strategically about how we communicate the value of school meals in every community.
